　　原作・小池一雄、作画・池上遼一による大ヒット青年劇画のOVA化。
　　女性ニュースキャスターの日下夕湖は、現代のブラジルに日本人のガリンペイロ（金鉱掘り）がいるという情報に関心を抱いて同国に赴く。そこで彼女が会ったのは、リオ・バラキと名乗る青年。なりゆきから当初は彼を憎む夕湖だが、ある事件を契機に心を開く。そして実はバラキこそ、夕湖が捜していたガリンペイロだった。バラキの本名は日本人・茨木圭介。彼には凄絶な過去があった。
　　バンダイビジュアルの前身的組織ネットワークからリリースされたOVA。同社の当時の新レーベルで15禁作品路線「C.MOON」の第一弾として発売された。内容は原作の第一巻（第一章）部分のアニメ化。監督（脚本も兼任）の竹内啓雄以下マッドハウス周辺の実力派スタッフ勢が、精緻な作画で知られる劇画家・池上遼一のビジュアルをきわめて丁寧にアニメ映像に置換している。

　　こだか和麻原作による人気漫画のOVA版第1巻。高校剣道界で最強と恐れられていた蘭丸だったが、恋人・圭の命を狙った何者かの襲撃により、半身不随の状態になってしまう。その後、厳しいリハビリに耐え、歩くことが可能になった蘭丸だったが…。

By daylight, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste are ordinary teenagers. But unbeknownst to their family and friends, the two of them carry a huge secret...using the powers of magical creatures called Kwami, they transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir! With a mission to protect the city of Paris from the evil Hawk Moth, the two of them must learn to cope with their new responsibilities, as well as ordinary troubles involving love, school, family, and friends. Most of all, they must learn to put their romantic feelings aside in order to perform their duty, unaware of each other's true identities.                                    
                               　　The second season premiere is scheduled for a global launch around September–November 2017 in Europe, At a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, it was announced that the second season would have its North American release on Netflix in December 2017, with 13 episodes to be released. KidsClick will start airing season 2 of this show in the US starting 30 August 2018, marking the first time that Season 2 of this show airing on American over-the-air television. A third season is also in development. On 22 January 2018, Zag posted on Instagram that the crew was working on a fourth and fifth season. On 31 August premiered a new series with Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir which this time is in chibi style. On 5 September, 2018, Skydance Media has acquired the live-action film and live-action television rights.
